Tamborine Mountain

                                 GOLD COAST Hinterland

A mountain village surounded by green rainforests, stunning waterfalls & magical views

Tamborine Mtn, the Village in the Rainforest, offers you the chance to explore the rainforest & waterfalls, engage with local artists, see glow worms in their natural habitat, wander amongst butterflies and so much more.

This secluded little village is a green island in the sky, just on the doorstep of Brisbane & Gold Coast. The pace is slower here. The focus is on connections with people and authentic experiences with locals and visitors alike.

Amongst the popluar markets, you’ll find amazing walking tracks, see stunning wildlife, as well as restaurants and cafes offering everything from healthy food to burgers, homemade ice-cream and everything in between. The shops and boutiques cater to all tastes, styles and budgets. From opals and photographic prints, to didgeridoos, ceramics, jewellery, paintings and more.

Wander the rainforest pathways to explore hidden streams or enjoy one of the many tours and attractions that complement the Tamborine Mountain experience and make for an unforgettable day or stay, including the Cedar Creek Falls and stunning 'Hang Glider Lookout'. It’s recommended you allow yourself plenty of time in Tamborine Mountain to explore and experience the best our Mountain has to offer without having to rush.

I'm a local photographer who has been living on Tamborine Mountain for the past 7 years. I love nature, mountains and waterfalls and enjoy being part of the mountain community and to share my experiences.

Go to the Rainforest. You will find yourself in paradise if you love nature & wildlife. Tamborine Mountain offers some amazing walks for every age group.

Most rainforest walks on the mountain are unique in their own way. Some will welcome you with breathtaking waterfalls, while others will make you feel like you are deep in a jungle.

If you take it slow and listen carefully you might come across a family of the black cockatoos or a kokaburra will scare the hell out of you with its monkey like sounds. I certainly love the wildlife and nature up here. Please be mindful and take your rubbish with you when you come to visit.

Hang Glider Lookout - the open hinterland views from the popluar hang glider lookout on main western road are just magical.

It's a place to stop by at any time of the day, enjoy the views, observe the weather and just let your soul relax.

Views, Waterfalls & BBQ, all in one place. This gem has been one of my favourite walks for a long time. A good walk to be accompanied by friends or family.

It's a short under 1 hour loop walk which passes a waterfall with a 30m vertical drop.

For the brave, there is a perfect picnic spot right at the edge of the falls!

Curtis Falls in Joala section is probably one of the most popluar walking tracks on the Mountain because of the magnificent Curtis Waterfall.

This walk can be very busy on the weekends so my favourite time to visit this magical place is by night, when it can reveal its true beauty. The amount of glow worms in this valley is truly breathtaking and an experience you won't forget.

Please be aware, glow worms do not like flash or phone lights, so please keep your light low or use a red light.
